Nothing has been repaired. The gaps are where the record broke, and the breaks are part of what it says.
Read them in order or do not. The Archive keeps no attendance. But what is read here does not close, and it does not leave when you do.

THE FIELD GUIDE
Terms as the registry defines them. They are not explanations.
- The Archive
- Not a building, though it has been mistaken for one. The practice of remembering carried out past the point where memory should fail. It does not judge what it keeps. It only refuses to let it go.
- The Fracture
- The condition of the lore being broken rather than whole. The Archive does not repair Fractures. It catalogues them, because a Fracture is where the record tells the truth about its own limits.
- The Witness
- One who has taken the binding and cannot now unsee what the Archive sets before them. Witnesses are not chosen for virtue. They are chosen for the rare and ruinous willingness to remain until a thing is fully recorded.
- Marginalia
- What the Archive keeps in the edges of the things it files: the unsigned note, the changed hand, the line no one remembers writing. It is not an honour to be kept there. It is only very quiet.
- Custody
- The burden carried by whoever holds a relic outside the Reliquary. It cannot be sold, only handed on, and each hand it crosses is added to the relic's entry.
- The Reliquary
- Where the Archive keeps the objects it has taken into custody. Things enter by being witnessed too completely to remain in the world. They leave only as custody, never as decoration.

THE SCORE
Ten beds were lifted from beneath the accounts and filed on their own. They carry no words. They are the sound the room makes when no one is speaking in it.
